REMEMBRANCE DAY
Remembrance Dayis held on the 11th November every year. It is also known as Armistice Day. At 11:00am on 11th November 1918, the countries involved in the First World War agreed to stop fighting. This marked the end of the First World War.
The first Remembrance Day ever was held on 11th November 1919.
Every year, at 11:00am on 11th November people all over the United Kingdom take part in a two minute silence.
Remembrance Daygives people the chance to remember those who have fought and lost their lives during wars and allows us to honour their memory. It makes sure that we never forget the past, and that those who died, didn't die in vain.
We created some Remembrance Day artwork and sent it to the residents (our friends) at Alexander Care Home.
Our friends from Alexander Care Home also sent us something special to help us REMEMBER, along with a lovely letter. We have placed them on our prayer table.
DESIGN TECHNOLOGY - Bread
We designed and made our own bread rolls.
Here are our finished products. We took them home for a taste test and then evaluated them at school the next day!
HISTORY - The Romans in Britain
In History this half term we are learning about the Romans in Britain.
On Thursday 13th October 2022 we went to Chester for the day and had a full Roman experience! It was a fantastic day and we all learnt even more that we already knew!
DESIGN TECHNOLOGY - Bread
In Year Five, we will be making our very own bread as part of our Design Technology work.
So far we have found out and researched the well-known bakers - Warburtons.
We have also done our very own market research, tasting lots of different types of bread, to find out the most popular in our class.
We have also tasted lots of different ingredients so we can decide what we want to put in our own bread rolls - YUM!
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE
Every year, on 21st September, we celebrate International Day of Peace.
