The Great , the Brave and the Bold

As part of our I.P.C topic 'The Great , the Brave and the Bold,' Year Five and Six visited the Dewa Experience in Chester to learn about the lives of the ancient Romans in Britian. What a fantastic day we had!

Our groups were led around the interactive displays by a 'Roman Villager' who taught us about how the Romans lived in their day to day lives. We clambered aboard the sailing ships that brought the Romans to Britain , explored how they cooked, where they slept and looked at the Roman baths!

We examined real archaeological digs and became archaeologists, finding clues hidden beneath the rubble.

Later, after lunch, we marched through the streets of Chester shouting Roman marching songs with our shields, led by a 'Roman Centurion' and walked along the real Roman ruins, including the ampitheatre, where the battles took place.

What a informative, inspiring, fun filled day!
