Welcome to Nursery!

Welcome to Nursery! We are so excited for the upcoming year. We have got lots of exciting things planned and cannot wait to share these experiences with you! All of the Nursery children have settled in very well and they are really enjoying their time in Nursery.

Please note:

-All children must bring a water bottle into school each day. This bottle should contain only water and should be clearly labelled with the child's name on.

-PE will take place every Thursday morning. All children who attend Nursery in the morning will need black PE pumps which must be labelled and put into a draw string bag.

-Every Monday, there will be a new rhyme of the week posted onto 'SeeSaw' for you to sing at home. Please post a response via the response box during the week.

-Our weekly parent/guardian drop in session takes places on a Thursday after school. Please feel free to drop in with an queries and questions or to see your child's learning journey.

We look forward to the upcoming year!

Autumn ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ

This week in Nursery we have been learning all about autumn. We have been exploring autumn in many different ways including sorting autumn leaves into colour and size, creating autumn pictures with natural autumn items, using the tweezers to collect the autumn items from the trap, finger painting autumn leaf trees, making hedgehog cupcakes and exploring the small world autumn forest. We also went on a leaf hunt to find lots of different coloured, shaped and sized leaves.

Superheroes to the rescue!

This week has been a very fun and exciting week in Nursery; we have been learning all about superheroes. We have been exploring our favourite superheroes such as Spider-man, Bat-man, Superman, Wonder Woman and we have been looking at what kinds of super powers they have.  We also thought about what super ‘powers’ we have and worked hard to use these super ‘powers’ throughout the week. We have really enjoyed using new language and vocabulary about superheroes within our play experiences such as, making superhero capes in the creative and play dough areas, creating stories in the small world superhero head quarters, making numicon superhero towers, creating masks, sharing objects between the superheroes, creating our own superheroes through matching, making superhero cupcakes and lots more!

People who help us๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพ‍โš•๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿผ‍โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿฝ‍๐Ÿซ

This week we have been learning about the different people who help us and the different jobs that they do. We have been completing lots of different challenges throughout the week including making emergency vehicles, making fire engines out of play dough, matching the people who help us together, exploring the St Marie’s dentist and doctors surgery and painting emergency vehicles. We also had the opportunity to look at and try on some real life paramedic clothing and equipment.

Supertato! ๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿฅ•

This week we have been exploring the story ‘Supertato’. Within our provision we have been engaged in many different activities about Supertato and all of his friends. We have been re-telling the story using the story characters and props, making evil pea by moulding the dough into different shapes and sizes, shopping in the Supertato supermarket, putting the correct amount of evil pea into the bowls and designing a new cape for Supertato. We have also been exploring all of the healthy foods within the story, which we were able to taste. It has been a great week in Nursery.

Our family are our heroes!

This week we have been learning all about family. We have been taking part in lots of different learning opportunities throughout the week such as sharing our family photographs with the rest of the class, painting our family, making a gingerbread family, playing in the home area and with the small world house and family. We have had lots of fun!
