Our Wonderful World

Sports Day

The children from Nursery and Reception had a fantastic day on Thursday with Sports Day. They were split into teams and then took part in different races- running, egg and spoon and beanbag on the head. It was great fun and all children enjoyed the day. In the end the Yellow Team won!

French Day

The children had a 'superbe' day for French Day on Wednesday. The enjoyed learning about France, the flag, where it was on the map, the food and a visit to the Eiffel Tower.

The children loved creating their own Eiffel Tower using the straws- taking great time and care to cut them into the lengths they wanted.

They also loved a picnic of French Food including, croissants, cheese, crepes and French bread!

Summer Term !

We hope you have all had a Happy and Holy Easter.

This Term we will be looking at Traditional Stories. We will be reading stories such as Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, The 3 Little Pigs and the Enormous Turnip. We will be looking at the characters and setting as well as using the story language to retell these stories.

In Maths we will start by looking at Shape and Pattern , followed by Addition and Subtraction by counting on and back.

In Religion we will continue learning about the Resurrection of Jesus, leading up to Pentecost and The Ascension.

We will continue to work on writing words and sentences by sounding out and we will be using the Traditional Stories as inspiration for our writing.

PE is on Thursdays.

Please remember to hear your child read every night and return their bag each day.

We look forward to working with you again this term!

The Gigantic Turnip

We have loved reading this book; joining in with the repetitive phrases and acting out the different roles. We also really enjoyed making and tasting our own turnip stew.

The Month of the Rosary

We have been learning about Mary and her special prayer The Hail Mary. We have been learning to say this prayer together. We also made our own decade of the Rosary.

Supertato

We have been reading the book Supertato this week. The Evil Pea has been up to all sorts of mischief in our classroom including tying up the vegetables, drawing on the broccoli, hiding Supertato in the trees and finally escaping! We have had lots of fun with this book. Have a look at our pictures!

Don't forget to keep an eye out for the cheeky Evil Pea!
