WELCOME TO RECEPTION!
Summer 1 - Once Upon a Time
Welcome to our Reception Class page where we will share what we are learning about as well as photos of our adventures.
In RE we will be learning about what happened after Easter Sunday and Pentecost. We will also listen to the stories about the Apostles.
In RWI the children will be re-assessed this half term and moved into new groups according to the sounds that they know.
In Maths we will work with the numbers beyond 10; Counting, ordering and grouping these amounts. We will also begin to learn number bonds to 10 by heart. We will be recognising and describing 2d and 3d shapes and then positional language.
Our topic is Once Upon a Time. We will be reading traditional Stories such as 3 Little Pigs, The Gingerbread Man Little Red Riding Hood. We will also look at different cultural stories - No Dinner and The Gigantic Turnip. We will practise retelling these stories, role playing them and using the small world figures to help retell them. We will also plan and make our houses for the 3 Little Pigs.
