Spring 2 - Roots, Shoots and Muddy Boots
Welcome to our Reception Class page where we will share what we are learning about as well as photos of our adventures.
In RE we will be learning about Lent, including the signs and symbols associated with this time. We will prepare ourselves for Easter by making Lenten Promises and saying our own prayers. As we move towards Holy Week, we will learn about the different events that happened during this week.
In RWI the children will be re-assessed this half term and moved into new groups according to the sounds that they know.
In Maths we will work with the numbers 9 and 10. Counting, ordering and grouping these amounts. We will also begin to learn number bonds to 5 by heart. We have been weighing objects, comparing mass using heavier and lighter, as well as comparing length using longer/taller/shorter.
Our topic is Minibeasts and Growing. We will learn about many different minibeasts, their features and their habitats, as well as going on our own Minibeast Hunts. We will grow different flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables in our outdoor garden , identifying the parts of the plants, flowers and trees, We will investigate what plants need to grow and grow our own sunflowers. We will also look at the season of Spring, comparing it to Winter and Autumn.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
